Wedding Swap Card for Hilton Event prior to SU Convention

I've had such fun working with this design. I had to make 77 cards and get them shipped off for the swap organizer and her elves to have the time to make sure everyone gets all the swaps they are supposed to prior to the swap on July 17.

Here's the materials list:
Stamp Sets: Banner Greetings, Sweetly Framed, Love & Laughter
Cardstock: Brush Silver, Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink: Black Stazon, Illuminate, Basic Gray
Punches: Itty Bitty Shapes, Ticket Duo
Big Shot and Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder
Accessories: 5/8" White Organza Ribbon, Rhinestone Jewels, Stampin' Trimmer, and Paper Snips
Adhesives: Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Snail adhesive
Techniques - 1) sponged Illuminate ink over all white paper and the 'mr & mrs' banner
2) used two pieces of ribbon so you can get the flat knot to show, then scotch tape the ends around back.

This design could also be for an anniversary card as well as a wedding card.  I think it would lend itself to be done in a variety of color themes.

Changing Up Colors

I'll be leading a card making event at my church this week and was planning on using the same designs from my recent Stamp Camp since the guests will be different and to save some preparation time. However, as always happens there is usually something that forces you to change your plans. Well, the bleach technique was fun on the Baja Breeze/Betsy's Blossom card, but I realized it wasn't practical for a larger setting, so I tried using white craft ink instead on midnight muse and I like the result. Then it was the brads that caused the next change because I didn't have enough of them for the Fabulous Florets card, so this time I tried Smokey Slate, Wisteria Wonder, and Raspberry Ripple color scheme so I could use my Wisteria Wonder brads. I just love how changing up a color scheme brings a whole new flavor to a card design.  What do you think?

Card Designs for Operation Write Home

I recently learned of an organization called Operation Write Home, that asks stampers to donate cards (following their guidelines of course) that our military can use to mail back to their loved ones. My church had a Faith in Action Sunday not too long ago and we made an assortment of 80 cards of these designs with the help of a team of volunteers over a 4 hour period. I even had some guys helping out!

One of the nice things about this project is it gives those of us with a large paper stash a chance to use some of it up! The first 3 photos use Stampin' Up! products, but the last card with the exception of the ribbon and brads are products I purchased at my local craft store since I was looking for an Independence Day theme.

I encourage you to check out this worthy cause, because anyone can do it and feel good about helping our nation's military. I like to think of it as "Hallmark in a box!"

Easy Bleach Technique Card

I'm having a hard time saying goodbye to Baja Breeze (newly retired color), so I just had to do one more design for my June Stamp Camps. This layout was inspired by Ling's Design Studio. I'd done the bleach technique at a couple other stamping events I've attended, but never at my own stamp camps until now. I learned a lot. I used one of the clamshell cases from SU and folded up a paper towel inside, then poured a small amount of bleach onto the paper towel. I discovered that you need to do this right before anyone stamps, otherwise, the paper towel will dissolve and the stamped images won't turn out right. Just be sure to allow time for the stamped image to dry before assembling the card.

My card recipe is Baja Breeze and Whisper White cardstock, Betsy's Blossom and Label Love stamp sets, Baja Breeze seam binding, Smoky Slate ink, and the new Artisan Punch.  To me this card has a beachy feel.  Enjoy!!!

Sympathy Card

This card design was inspired by Julie Wadlinger of See Julie Stamp. This card is built on the new Smoky Slate cardstock, with Pacific Point flag top and bottom, Soft Sky with honeycomb embossing folder, and Whisper White layer stamped with sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers in Pacific Point ink. Floral images are from the Fabulous Florets set. Leaves are stamped in Wild Wasabi and flowers are stamped in Smoky Slate and fussy cut out. The flower centers are brads from 2012 Sell-a-bration that I had on hand. The card is finished with tearing the corner to expose the honeycomb and attaching a bow made from the 1/4" Whisper White stitched grosgrain ribbon. I love the result of the various textures.   Thanks for taking a look!

New In-Colors Make and Take Card

This design is a direct CASE from Mary Fish at Stampin Pretty. I just love how she makes simple beautiful. The card base is Bermuda Bay with Whisper White, then each of the five new In-Colors for 2013-15 punched out with the 1-1/4" square punch and the 1" circle punch. The sentiment comes from Really Good Greetings stamped in the new Baked Brown Sugar ink. Yum!

Quick and Easy Make and Take

This card was inspired by a Pinterest post from "Stampin  Club"- Nadine Weiner, SU Demonstrator from Germany. I changed the banner to be horizontal, and the sentiment "From My Heart" set stamped in Black Stazon ink, but I loved the butterfly punch and matching button/pearl combo with how the background peeks through. Colors were Crumb Cake and Whisper White cardstock, along with Polka Dot Parade DSP. The fun part about this card is any one of the Polka Dot Parade colors makes this card look fabulous!

Girls Baby Bib Card for Convention 2013 Swap

I'm participating in a monthly make and take swap at this years convention and I think this card will fill the bill quite nicely. I feel like such a genius! I used two paper doilies to make the bib ruffle but cutting out the center of the doily so I had just the edge "ribbon". Isn't it frilly and cute?  I used Pink Pirouette and Whisper White cardstock, Polka dot and Stripes Embossing folders for the Big Shot, the stitched white grosgrain ribbon, plus the two accent scallop punches using the Label Love stamp set (130622), finished off with the piercing around the oval.  Enjoy!

Boys Bib Card

A simple Baby Card, but with an elegant tuxedo touch.  Using Oval Framelits, the piercing tool, the stripes embossing folder, and two punches (pennant and circle) you can make this easy card in whatever color combination you'd like.  Enjoy!

I was having fun the other day designing this cute baby card for one of my convention swaps, but then decided it was too labor intensive to make a bunch, so it will have to be one of a kind. I haven't seen one like it, so I hope you like my original design.
